A treasure scroll of eight symbols and eight thoughts written by Emperor Qianlong of Kesi

“The treasure scroll of the eight symbols of the eight symbols of the Emperor Qianlong’s reign in Kesi”

The treasure scroll of the eight symbols of the Emperor Qianlong’s reign in Kesi is 33 centimeters in length and 164 centimeters in width during the reign of the Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty. The old collection of the Qing Palace
In the 54th year of Qianlong’s reign (1789), the Emperor Hongli was nearly eighty years old and ordered to engrave the treasure of eight symbols and eight thoughts, as well as to engrave seals such as “constantly striving for self-improvement”. He was proud to be eighty years old but still “physically strong” and “not yet mentally weak”, and enjoyed the blessings of five generations in the same hall. He also encouraged himself to work diligently and tirelessly in government, and wished his descendants to continue this blessing. This manuscript is the “Treasure Record of Eight Symbols and Eight Concepts” written by Emperor Qianlong to record the engraving of this precious seal
The scroll adopts common techniques such as flat tapestry and overlapping tapestry. Although the tapestry is not complex, it has a width of 164 centimeters, and on a tapestry loom with a width of more than one meter, 58 lines of running script fonts need to be taped simultaneously, while the other 10 lines of small characters are extremely difficult. The weaver of the tapestry is dexterous in handling the shuttle, with exquisite tapestry, uniform font size, neat arrangement, and clear strokes, faithfully reproducing the charm of Emperor Qianlong’s imperial brush
Seal with “Five Blessings for Use”, “Eight Symbols: The Treasure of Eight Minds”, and “Self improvement”. The head of the package is a multicolored tapestry Tianlu, equipped with a lacquer box, and originally mounted. “Three Collections of Shiqu Treasures” and “Collection of Books and Paintings in the Qing Dynasty” are described.
