This is one of the gowns of the Qing Dynasty emperors. “Round neck, double breasted, flat sleeves, left and right and back open train, decorated with five copper plated gold round buckles.”. The neckline is worn with a broken yellow strip, and the yellow paper is signed with ink letters: “Gaozong”, “satin embroidery, rice beads, dragon, and Mianjin…”
The stone blue satin fabric is embroidered with colorful silk threads, gold threads, and rice beads on the chest, back, and shoulders, with five claws and four dragons on the front. The two chapters of the sun and moon are respectively decorated on the left and right shoulders. In the pattern of a group of dragons, there are decorated with multicolored flowing clouds, red characters, bats, and longevity peach patterns, implying “ten thousand blessings, ten thousand longevity.”. Dragon patterns are embroidered with white pearls the size of millet, with a strong decorative effect and unique craftsmanship. They are also rare in the clothing of emperors and empresses in the Qing Dynasty, reflecting the superb and exquisite embroidery and decoration techniques of the Qianlong period.
