The porcelain duck lies on its back with its head raised, mouth open and tongue rolled, one wing raised, and tail feathers cocked up. The whole body is decorated with pastel paint and is white, with wings and tail feathers in light gray, and the beak and fins in yellow, with black eyes. Feather patterns are drawn on the head, neck, and abdomen with a comb, while the back, wings, and tail feathers are embossed with feathers. The lower abdomen and soles of the feet are flat and tasteless
The production process of various animal shaped porcelain is relatively complex, with traditional molding techniques including molding, sculpture, kneading, and split bonding. The duck is sculptured and decorated with various techniques such as grate carving and color painting. It is one of the finest bionic porcelain sculptures fired by the imperial kiln during the Qianlong period.
