Blue and White Lotus Pattern Ruyi Ear Flat Pot, Qing Qianlong, height 53cm, caliber 7.5cm, foot diameter 16 × 10 cm
The flat pot has a garlic shaped mouth, a short neck, and a symmetrical Italian shaped ear between the mouth and the shoulder. It has a round belly, with a drum stud protruding on both sides of the abdominal wall, and a rectangular ring of feet. The interior is painted with white glaze, and the exterior wall is painted with blue and white lotus patterns wrapped around the branches, supplemented by border decorations such as flowers, ganoderma lucidum, and plum blossoms. Apply white glaze inside the ring foot. On the outsole, there are three lines and six characters of the blue and white seal script “made in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty”
This is a piece of palace porcelain made by Jingdezhen imperial kiln during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. Its shape and decoration are derived from the blue and white porcelain of the official kilns in Yongle and Xuande periods of the Ming Dynasty, which shows the prosperity of the ancient style in the production of ceramic utensils during the Qianlong period.
