This excerpt from the “Xiang He Jing” was written in the seventeenth year of Qianlong (1752), when Jin Nong was 66 years old. The horizontal strokes of the work are flat and sturdy, with the starting and ending points deliberately cut straight into shape. The straight strokes, long curls, and sharp strokes are fine and sharp. The body is square, thick, and dignified. The thick black ink color forms a sharp contrast with the blank space between the words, with a strong visual effect. It is a typical style of Jinnong’s “lacquer writing”
