[Chang Fossil “Only Essence and Only” Treasure]

“Only Essence and Only” Treasure, made of stone during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, is carved with Su Shi’s “Red Cliff Fu” and seal script in Chinese. The surface is 6.9 cm square, and the overall height is 11.9 cm. With a yellow sticker and an inked book, “Only the best and only royal treasure is available.”
“Only the essence and uniqueness” refers to the “Shangshu Da Yumo”: “The human heart is only in danger, the moral heart is only small, only the essence and uniqueness are allowed to speak.” This statement is therefore the mental method for the ruler to govern the people. As Kong Yingda’s notes say: “To be in a position to govern the people, and to govern the people, one must be clear about the Tao. Therefore, in order to govern the people, one must understand the danger of the human heart, and the Tao must be subtle. The Tao is the way that things follow. By speaking of the human heart, one must express the Tao’s heart. The human heart is the master of all considerations, and the Tao’s heart is the foundation of all paths. In order to establish a ruler, one must understand the Tao, and in order to govern the people, one must understand the Tao. In order to understand the Tao, one must be careful, and in order to secure the people, one must be attentive. Therefore, one must carefully concentrate on the precepts, and one must also believe in them. Then, one can “To understand the truth and reassure the people.” Gai Yan, who is a ruler, should practice both “refinement” and “oneness”, and cultivate one’s own body. Emperor Qianlong used this as a seal to carve multiple precious seals, and this is one of them. This seal matches the “Qianlong Chen Han” and is stamped on the imperial calligraphy and painting
