This work was made for the royal wedding by experts in the ivory carving industry of the Qing Palace during the period from Yongzheng to Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty. This process, which uses no splicing means and purely engravings to create complex chain structures, is a prominent achievement of ivory carving in the Qing Dynasty. According to the different style features and the composition of the ivory work at that time, although this ivory gourd did not leave any style, it should have been made by a craftsman from Guangdong.
