[Bamboo Carved Halberd Zun]
Bamboo Carved Halberd Zun, mid Qing Dynasty, with a total height of 17.3cm and a caliber of 17.2cm
It is made of bamboo roots, with an open mouth, a flat round body, and feet that lean outward and circle. The decoration can be divided into three sections, with concise neck and foot sections, each decorated with four sides of the door ridge. The main decoration is located on the abdomen, with a leaf ridge dividing the abdomen into four equal parts, all of which are based on a circular pattern. The upper two groups are embossed with Kui dragon patterns, and the lower two groups are animal face patterns
This statue is modeled after a bronze ware. Zun is an ancient wine vessel, which was relatively popular during the Shang and Zhou dynasties. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, the trend of imitating antiquity flourished, and bronze imitations were a major category of bamboo carving products. This type of antique bamboo carving is often very detailed, but overall it is not realistic. Most of the artifacts are a mixture of typical shapes and patterns from various eras.
