Ruyi’s head is inlaid with a carved double dragon jade ornament, finely crafted, and the tail is inlaid with a square sunflower shaped relief double melon jade ornament. The style is simple and fresh, and should be a component of the Ming Dynasty jade belt ornament. The hard wood handle is engraved with the “Spring Posts of Guisi” made by the Emperor Qianlong:

It can be seen that when the early spring turned warm and cold, the 62-year-old Emperor Qianlong, after offering sacrifices to the Qing Emperor for the Spring Festival, made the Spring Posts and asked the craftsmen of the manufacturing office to engrave them on this Ruyi handle in order to ensure political and civil security, and all things went well.
