[Rhinoceros horn carved double-dragon ear lotus leaf cup]
Rhinoceros horn carved dragon lotus leaf cup, middle Qing Dynasty, height 8.9 cm, caliber 16.4 cm – 11.2 cm, foot diameter 4.4 cm – 4 cm
The cup is like a bucket, like a lotus leaf, with the leaf edge folded to the inside and outside, which is natural and beautiful. The outer wall is carved with double-hook veins as the ground pattern, and the lower part is embossed with rolling waves. The water lines form a scaly semicircle with fine parallel lines, which are overlapped with each other. This patterned treatment is quite decorative. The upper part is embossed with three dragon dragons, which are twisted and full of motion. The cup is made up of two chi, one inclined upward, two claws climbing the rim of the cup, the head extending into the mouth of the cup, the other chi hanging on its feet with its tail, leaning downward and looking back, with an air of calm. The design of the double chi not only conforms to the structural requirements of the cup, but also does not appear obtrusive. It is undoubtedly the finishing touch of the implements.
