[Komatsu Bamboo Carving Yunhe Pictorial Penholder]
Komatsu Bamboo Carving Yunhe Pictorial Penholder, clear, 14.6cm high, 9.9cm caliber
Round body, thin cylinder wall, inlaid with wooden mouth, slightly inclined mouth, lack of bottom, should be equipped with wooden seat, and still have a tenon mark. The body of the cylinder is full of decorative patterns, with carving and shallow relief as the main performance techniques. On one side, it depicts a scholar sitting on a couch, a fan in hand, and a pen in hand. It looks like a title word. The woman beside the cylinder is serving tea, and the woman in quail clothes is waiting for the bamboo with a fan inserted. Two geese swim in the carved pool on the back. A child washes the inkstone beside the pool, and a child fans the fire to cook tea. The clouds are dense in the air, and white cranes dance. The seal script “Komatsu” is engraved on the lake stone. Its content seems to be composed of anecdotes about Wang Xizhi’s life. Although the carving is shallow and well-arranged, the large-area brocade screen, pine scales and pine needles are rare. In terms of style, the creation time seems to be the middle of the Qing Dynasty or earlier
