[Copper bench type furnace]
Copper bench type furnace, Qing Yongzheng, with a height of 11.2cm and a diameter of 9.6 × 4.2 cm, foot pitch 10 cm. The old collection of the Qing Palace
This stove is shaped like a table, with a flat mouth and square feet. It is not painted with gold. On the outer bottom of the device, there is a line of six regular script in the reduced ground script “made in Yongzheng year of the Qing Dynasty”. The furnace is attached with a copper base and a wooden box with yellow silk face. Outside the wooden box, there is the signature of the recipient, “Gifted by Emperor Shizong”
According to the “Xuande Yi Ware Manual”, the Taiji stoves of that year were cast in imitation of the porcelain style of the Song Ding Kiln. The Yongzheng wares were imitated according to the patterns contained in the Manual, and even the style, location and writing format were the same. The significance of this device is twofold. First, the shape of the device is not imaginary but original. From the Song Ding Kiln to the Manual and then to the Yongzheng Xuan Bronze Ware, the whole line runs through, which also shows that at least the Yongzheng period recognized the Manual; Second, in addition to the date of the national dynasty, there is also a signature to prove the identity of the ancient collection of the Qing Palace.
