Haririra Self-Avalokitesvara Thangka, 18th century, Tibet, Buben, colored, 125 cm high, 77 cm wide, 66 cm vertical and 45 cm horizontal. The old collection of the Qing Palace
The Tibetan name of this Avalokitesvara is “Haririra Avalokitesvara”. The Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is white, wearing a crown, topless, covered with benevolent animal skin, six arms, right hand 1 raised, right hand 2 holding rosary, right hand 3 giving vow seal, left hand 1 holding sword, left hand 2 holding benevolent animal, left hand 3 holding a bottle, sitting on the shoulder of the blue Ming Wang, the blue Ming Wang squatting on the body of the roc bird, the roc bird standing on the back of the white lion, in a unique form of overlapping. The upper bound is the founder of Buddhism and the Infinite Light Buddha, and the lower bound is the Matou Mingwang
On the back of the portrait, there is a white silk label with a four-body inscription in Han, Manchu, Mongolian and Tibetan characters. The Chinese text is: “On the seventh day of August, the forty-fifth year of Qianlong’s reign, Panchen Erdeni went to Danshuk to worship the benefit portrait of Avalokitesvara, the third from the right”. This hall of Avalokitesvara Thangka is composed of 9 axes and is now fully preserved. Each god in the picture has a Tibetan name under it, and the time and location are marked on the white silk label on the back.
