Copper gold-plated enamel mirror

[Copper-plated enamel-inlaid mirror watch]

Copper-plated enamel-inlaid mirror watch, England, 18th century, 70cm high, 50cm wide, 29cm thick
Supported by eight animal feet, the base is a music box. There are enamel paintings on all sides of the box, in which there are mountain village scenery, peacocks and the little god of love in Greek mythology. The picture is clear and colorful. There are small drawers on both sides of the music box, which can be used for dressing supplies. There is a platform on the music box, and the four corners of the platform have copper cup-shaped castings, which are popular ornaments for European clocks at that time. There are also four copper-plated men on the platform, two holding garlands and two holding shields, which are lifelike. The center of the platform is an oval mirror with a wreath as the frame. The back of the mirror has blue glass, a small watch is embedded in the middle, and the dial has minute hand and hour hand. There are shafts on both sides of the mirror, which are square spikes carved in transparent glass
This watch is shaped like a dressing table. Open the back cover of the watch and use the key to wind it. The primary drive system and escapement mechanism of the small watch have been improved. The escapement has replaced the original structure of connecting the shaft with the swing rod pendulum with the swing wheel hairspring shaft. This small watch is still accurate and will not stop as the mirror tilts back and forth. Made by William Hughes in London.
