With respect to the mouth, short neck, straight belly and round feet. The word “Shou” is written in blue and white throughout the body, distributed in four parts: mouth, edge, abdomen and foot. Seventy-seven lines in the mouth, two words in each line; Forty-eight lines along the mouth, one word per line; One hundred and thirty lines of abdomen, seventy-five words per line; Forty-eight lines, one word per line; A total of 10000 “longevity” characters, meaning “eternal life”. This is a gift presented by the imperial kiln factory during the Emperor Kangxi’s birthday
The “Shou” characters on the statue are all written in seal characters of different calligraphies, which are arranged neatly and arranged vertically and horizontally. The size of the font increases or decreases with the twists and turns of the body, which is smooth and natural, reflecting the ingenuity of the porcelain craftsman. Only through the meticulous arrangement can the whole 10000 “Shou” characters be written, and the characters are neat, making the whole utensil look solemn and extraordinary. The “Shou” character is often used as decoration to match other decorative patterns. Only this statue is decorated with the “Shou” character, and the design and writing are exquisite.
