Blue and white Dongshi catalpa leaf poem disc, Shunzhi, Qing Dynasty, 4.6 cm high, 21.4 cm caliber, 8.9 cm foot diameter
The rim of the plate is painted with brown glaze, and one side of the plate is painted with strange stones, and the other side is painted with catalpa leaves. The catalpa leaves are inscribed with a poem: “The floating clouds are wandering, and the setting sun is human.” The four characters and double lines of blue and white seal character “Jade Hall’s Best Tool” are printed on the outer bottom. The poems in question are two sentences from Li Bai’s “Send Off Friends” of the Tang Dynasty. The original poem is: “Green mountains run across the north, and white water flows around the east city. This place is a farewell place, and it is a lonely journey. The floating clouds are like a wanderer, and the setting sun is like a friend. Wave your hand to go there, and the horses are whistling.”
