Tongzhu Button “Datong Fuyin”, Qing Dynasty, printed 8.3 × 8.3 cm, 11.8 cm high
Printed copper cast, post button. The printed face has a wide border with a positive line, and the Chinese and Manchu characters are cast, and the contents are contrasted. The Chinese characters are read from the top right, and the Manchu characters are read from the top left. The printing platform is engraved with the words “Datong Mansion Seal. Made by the Ministry of Rites. May □, the 15th year of Daoguang.”
This is the official seal of the Qing Dynasty. In the Qing Dynasty, the government was subordinate to the province, under the jurisdiction of the prefectures and counties. Its chief was the prefect, ranking the fourth grade.
