Crimson gauze embroidered bergamot flower and bird sandalwood handle fan

[Crimson nasha embroidered bergamot flower-and-bird sandalwood handle round fan]

Crimson nasha embroidered bergamot flower-and-bird sandalwood handle round fan, clear, 47.3 cm long, 33 cm wide. The old collection of the Qing Palace
The fan is in the shape of eight sunflower petals. The fan is made of red diameter yarn, which is as thin as a cicada’s wings. It is embroidered with folded branches of bergamot, chrysanthemum and a five-color bird standing quietly on the branches by the na-sha process. Due to the large spacing between the holes, granular color dots can be seen when you look closely, which is very textured. This is the unique effect of nasha embroidery. It looks relaxed, but it is fine. The bird’s wings show long feathers with green single strands of silk, especially delicate. The fan edge is decorated with four groups of leather colored geometric scrolls of grass, which contrast with the screen of nasha embroidery. The bat longevity pattern on the lower guard of the fan is the same practice. The fan bone is wrapped with yellow tortoise back swastika, with sandalwood fan handle at the bottom, engraved with bamboo, peach, ganoderma lucidum, narcissus and other four seasons plants in the shade, and painted with blue, which has the auspicious meaning of “wishing birthday to the immortals”. The two ends of the handle are inlaid with dyed Qiu Jiao, and the end is decorated with yellow taped ears.
