Since then, he has been highly valued by the royal family and has traveled around for inspection. This picture is a long sketch scroll of 66 kinds of flowers and plants seen outside the Great Wall when he was 36 years old. The theme is novel and unique, which makes up for the deficiency that the theme of flowers and plants painting in the Ming and Qing dynasties only focused on the Central Plains and ignored the outside of the Great Wall. The depiction is realistic, and the coloring and coloring do not lose their original appearance, which provides a rare image data for studying the species of flowers and plants outside the Great Wall in the Kangxi Dynasty
In his creation, the author skillfully combined the independent and incoherent images into a rhythmic whole through the staggered position of the flowers, the change of the depth of ink and color, as well as the use of different techniques such as fine drawing and uniform color setting, so as to show the artist’s strong artistic expressiveness and realistic skills in the indulgent brush and ink.
