[Qing Tuo Fan Min Stele Album of the Eastern Han Dynasty]
Fan Min Stele Album, carved in the tenth year of Jian’an in the Eastern Han Dynasty (205), ink Tuo, cut and mounted in 21 pages. Each opening is 34 cm vertically and 38 cm horizontally. Mr. Ma Heng donated gifts
The inscription on this tablet is “The tablet of Fan Fujun, the governor of Bajun County, the former leader of the Han Dynasty”. It was established in Lushan County, Sichuan Province in March of the 10th year of Jian’an in the Eastern Han Dynasty (205). The large official script characters are simple, thick and vigorous, and are one of the famous steles of the Han Dynasty. After the Song Dynasty, it was lost for a long time, and was revisited in the light of the Qing Dynasty. This book was developed shortly after the original stone reappeared. The handwriting is clearer than that of ordinary old rubbings. The word “regular script” in the sixteenth line of “model” and the word “big” in the seventeenth line of “general election” are not damaged. That is, the so-called “regular script is not damaged”, which is more precious
The cover of this album has Mr. Ma Heng’s autograph, and each page is framed with the interpretation of Mahalanobi script. The suffix of the volume is Ma Erba: the postscript in November of 1911. This tablet is “Yang Haiqin from Peiping visited the original stone in the suburb of Lushan in the early years of Daoguang”. According to the rubbings, we can supplement and correct the “three words for the missing” and “five words for the wrong” in the inscription recorded in Li Shi by Hong Shi of the Song Dynasty. Renzi (1912) Meng Dongba said that Xu Zishan’s woodcut double-hook “Fan Min Stele” is called “Song Tuo Gu Ben”, which is actually an overlay, and this is the original stone Tuo
