Yingtai is a general name for the buildings on the South China Sea Island. It was built in the Ming Dynasty. Most of the existing buildings were renovated and expanded during the Shunzhi and Kangxi periods of the Qing Dynasty. Here is surrounded by water on three sides, with strange stones, flowers and trees. Hanyuan Hall, the main hall of Yingtai, is the place where emperors feast and drink. After the failure of the Reform Movement of 1898, Emperor Guangxu was imprisoned here
The picture painted by Emperor Qianlong looks from the south bank to the north. The lake is wide, with pavilions standing in the middle of the water, and stone bridges spanning the east and west. The position is accurate and the scenery is very realistic. The pen and ink are sparse, which is quite plain and naive
The four words “Peng Ying wins the prize” in the opening title are stamped with “Qianlong Chenhan”. At the front of the picture is the Emperor Qianlong’s inscription: “Today’s Jiaping scenery is getting late, and the snow is freezing, and the magpies are shaking the colored glaze. The farmers of the province are lucky to meet the real auspicious, and the festival is happy, but the holy mercy is offered. The fragrant flowers in the banana hall honor the Buddha, and the tiger in the liquid pool is playing on the ice. The spring light of the wax drum is approaching to greet the new year, and the past and present evaluations are thoughtful. I have been honored by the Empress Dowager in the past to visit the various places in Yingtai, and the story is described and written as a picture.” In the heart of the painting, there is another seal, such as “The treasure collection of Shiqu”. “Yousi” is the 14th year of Qianlong (1749) in the Qing Dynasty
