“Guimao” is the second year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1663)
This picture was painted by the artist when he was 72 years old. It depicts the cool autumn scenery of the Taihu Lake Lake. The landscape is simple, with sparse trees on the flat slope and thatched pavilions at the foot of the mountain. In terms of painting method, the patriarchal clan Ni Zan, the mountains, rocks and trees are outlined with a yearning brush. The turning point is sharp and the ink is clear. However, the painting method of the dotted leaves and small trees is still close to Huang Gongwang’s brushwork. Its thick and elegant style reflects the typical face of the painter in his later years
