[The flower and fruit picture screen of Zhou Shuxi and Zhou Shuhu]

The flower and fruit picture screen, painted by Zhou Shuxi and Zhou Shuhu in the Qing Dynasty, is made of silk, colored, 21.4 cm vertically and 19.2 cm horizontally
Zhou Shuhu and Zhou Shuxi are the eldest and second daughters of Zhou Rongqi, a calligrapher and painter. This is the four flower and fruit screens painted by the two sisters, each of which is stamped with the seal of “the woman on the river” and “the picture of Hu Xi”. The strip screen is divided into milk oranges, kiwifruit, loquat and persimmon. Each picture is mounted with a text introduction to this kind of flower and fruit, and two of them are mounted with biographies of Zhou Shuxi and Zhou Shuhu, which are supplemented by collectors
This screen is unique in material selection, ingeniously captures the characteristics of flowers and fruits, and has the delicate characteristics of female painting. The color is thick and beautiful, inheriting the painting method of Wen Zhengming School. The brush is exquisite and meticulous, and the flowers and fruits are portrayed vividly, lovingly and seductively. There are few works handed down by the Zhou sisters. It is very rare that this work is a combination of two girls.
