This painting was made in the 18th year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1661), when the painter was 52 years old. The picture features a partial close-up of the majestic momentum of the mountains and mainly outlines the snow scene “borrowing the land for white”, with slight rendering. The sunny side of the mountains and stones is white, the dark side is inked, and the trees are dark. The composition is dense, the strokes are clear and vigorous, and the artistic conception is ancient. The picture deliberately depicts pine trees and white snow, which symbolize noble and pure.
