Gong Xian Photographs Qixia Mountain

[Gong Xian’s Qixia Painting Volume]

The Qixia Painting Volume, Qing Dynasty, Gong Xian’s painting, paper edition, color setting, 30.3 cm vertical and 151.8 cm horizontal
Mount Regent and Qixia Temple are famous landscapes in Nanjing. The author uses blue as the main color, and the stone surface is either chapped or dyed, which shows the volume of the block surface and the landscape characteristics of the mountains. The large blank space in the picture skillfully shows the misty and empty clouds. At the same time, it forms a dense echo with the layers of colored rocks and trees, which enhances the changes of the virtual and real levels. Gong Xian rarely created color paintings in his life. The Guangzhou Museum of Fine Arts has collected its “Autumn Mountains and Waterfalls” axis, with the title: “Half an acre of people are nearly 60 years old, and none of them are color paintings. It’s not a matter of learning…”. This picture should be his work in his later years
This is a five-character rhythmic poem with its own title. The title of the poem is: “The poem of Qixia Temple in Mount Regency is left by Gong Ye.” The seal is “Gong Xianyin”, “Zhu Baiwen” and “half a thousand”, Zhu Wenyin. The lower right paragraph is stamped with “Gong Xian” and “Yeyi”
There is Lu Hui’s inscription at the beginning of the package, Zeng Xi’s inscription at the beginning, and Wu Changshuo’s postscript at the end. There are five parts in the collection, including “Xuzhai Examination and Approval”.
