Tufted golden ground blue bat pattern blanket

[tufted golden ground blue bat pattern blanket]

tufted golden ground blue bat pattern blanket, woven in Xinjiang in the late Qing Dynasty. 400 cm long and 230 cm wide. The old collection of the Qing Palace
The carpet warp and weft are cotton, and the twist is “Z” shape. Tufted velvet is tied with “8” buckles, one color weft is tied every two weft threads, and 120 color weft starts every 30.5cm. Use blue, crimson, blue-green, goose yellow, black, mahogany, princess and other colored silk threads to weave a peony pattern of the main blanket edge. The center of the blanket is a symmetrical bat pattern, with peony flowers, butterflies, and small bats as interlining. The “bat” and “blessing” in the pattern are homophonic, and the butterfly and peony imply “wealth and longevity”. Black, magenta and imperial concubine are used to highlight the outline of the pattern. The bat pattern, branch and leaf pattern in the blanket are partially applied with gold plate technology, and the patterns in the blanket become more and more beautiful under the background of the golden thread luster
The process of this carpet is relatively complex, with full patterns, stable and generous colors, and auspicious meanings. It is a more exquisite piece of Xinjiang tufted silk carpet in the late Qing Dynasty
