The octave box has a wooden painted shell and a music device inside. Open the box cover, and the box is divided into three compartments. There is a wrench for winding in the left cell, and there are two keys in the right cell, one is the switch and the other is the music key. In the middle is the instrumental music part. The small hammer that strikes the bronze bell bowl is made into a butterfly shape. After the winding is started, the eight-tone device plays a wonderful music, with a butterfly hammer hitting the bell bowl and a drumstick hitting the small drum
The Qing Palace has a collection of dozens of large and small octave boxes. The beautiful music of these octave boxes must have brought a happy time for Puyi, Wanrong and other Qing royal families to forget their worries
