The picture shows a fruit hanging upside down from a branch. It has no contrast between the far and near view, but only a few scattered leaves. The pen and ink are simple and elegant, which is typical of Qian Zai’s simple painting style. His style of painting was highly praised by the people of the time. Qian Yong commented on him in his “Lvyuan Conghua”: “The painting is not very colorful, the orchids and bamboos are particularly beautiful, and the air of the scroll overflows between the paper and ink, and is directly above the former Ming and Chen Daofu.” The uneven thickness of the fruit and fruit branches in this picture shows that the author has a severe shaking of the brush, which should be related to Qian Zai’s hemiplegia in his later years, and it is difficult to control the brush
