The self-title of this picture is: “Brother Chun Qing is a painting.” Uncle Zhao Zhiqian. “In the picture, a large stone is painted, and a peony is planted beside it. The flowers are bright, gorgeous and rich. Zhao Zhiqian is a famous painter of the Shanghai School. He is good at flowers. He first learned Yun Nantian, then went to his beautiful painting, and brought the pen of calligraphy and the sonorous meaning of gold and stone into the painting, forming a magnificent and broad personal style. This painting can be regarded as the representative work of Zhao Zhiqian’s typical style. The flowers are either boneless or double hooks, and the lines are fast and lively, emphasizing “writing” rather than “drawing”. The color is rich, water, ink and color blend, and the stone is thick in ink and has a strong texture. The bright colors and elegant brushwork show the bold and unconstrained spirit in the richness. The overall layout of the picture is dense at the top and sparse at the bottom, and contrasts with each other to form a complete picture.
