Historical stories are one of the important themes in the court paintings of the Qing Dynasty. The subject matter of this set of atlas is taken from the stories of empresses and empresses with good virtue in the past dynasties. The characters include Tairen, the mother of King Wen of the Western Zhou Dynasty, Taisi, the mother of King Wu of the Western Zhou Dynasty, Empress Mingdema, the Ming Emperor of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Empress Hexi and Deng of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Empress Cao, the benevolent saint of the Northern Song Dynasty, Empress Gao, the Emperor Xuanren of the Northern Song Dynasty, and Empress Zhang, the sincere filial piety of the Ming Renzong. When they were empresses or empresses, some of them were industrious, thrifty, kind-hearted, virtuous and filial, and some of them did not ask about political affairs and were not sycophantic to foreign relatives. The painter drew this picture album to publicize the feudal ethics and set an example for the imperial concubines. In the 12-page album, the images of beautiful women are soft, colorful and decorative. The drawing of buildings on the drawing adopts the method of European focus perspective, which is different from the traditional Chinese boundary painting. Each couplet is a poem written by Liang Shizheng and written by Hongli during the imperial period, recording the deeds of these empresses and empresses and their evaluation.
