This bronze ware is gold-plated, and its base is cashew shaped. The sundial is equipped with a compass on one side and a dial plate on the other. The dial needle is set on the top. The intersection angle between the dial plate and the base surface can be adjusted according to the latitude of different regions. There is a hollowed-out arc between the “mao” and “you” of the dial. Its function is to observe the position of the needle shadow between the time lines at any time, especially on the days near the spring and autumn equinoxes, so as to improve the accuracy of time measurement.
