This set consists of ten volumes, each in twelve volumes. In addition to Yao Xie’s poems, each volume is also stamped with “Xiong” Zhu Wen seal or “Weichang” Bai Wen seal. At the end of the album, there are four other pages, including Ren Xiong, Xiong Songzhi, Wu Yun, Shen Yu, Cao Jiao, Li Hongmei and others. According to Ren Xiong, the work was completed in the first year of Xianfeng (1851) at the age of 29
This set of 120 albums was painted by Ren Xiong for the owner when he lived in his friend Yao Xie’s home. Yao Xie, known as Meibo and Fuzhuang, is from Zhenhai, Zhejiang Province. During the reign of Daoguang, he was famous for his poems. This volume is based on Yao Xie’s poems. The themes are rich and diverse. Characters, ghosts, flowers, birds, fish and insects, fairy mountains, pavilions, and the wind and moon in the pavilions are all gathered between the rulers. The whole book is ingenious and often has supernatural strokes; The color design can be seen in the freshness and elegance, which can be called the best structure in Ren’s peak period. The contents of the first volume are as follows:
The first opening: “You can see the depth of the dragon, and the flowers are planted with trees”, and the seal is “bear” (Zhu Wenfang seal)
The second opening: “The solitary stirrup is the knowledge of the waves in the single night”, and the seal “Weichang” (written in white)
The third opening: “The new pear flowers are full of fan lake”, and the seal is “Weichang” (white seal)
The fourth opening: “The first one is made of potamon crispus, and the last one is made of potamon crispus”, and the seal is “Weichang” (seal in white)
The fifth opening: “The white ape is like an old man, riding a three-legged turtle upside down”, with the seal of “bear” (Zhu Wenfang seal)
The sixth opening: “Pinggang Luanmu sheep house”, with the seal of “Bear” (Zhu Wenfang seal)
The seventh opening: “When the flowers are cold and bitter, they will complain about the autumn. They will look like the spring girls.” The seal is “bear” (Zhu Wenfang seal)
The eighth opening: “There is a wave whale below, and there is a Uighur on the top”, and the seal is “bear” (Zhu Wen Fang seal)
