The fan is painted by Zou Yigui, a painter in the early Qing Dynasty. Zou Yigui (1688-1772), originally praised as “Xiaoshan”, also known as “Rangqing”, later known as “Erzhi Old Man”, was born in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. In the fifth year of Yongzheng’s reign, he was the first scholar in the second grade, awarded the title of editing by the Imperial Academy, and later became a cabinet bachelor. He is good at painting flowers, learns Yun Shouping’s painting method, and has a beautiful style. He is the author of “Hill Painting Manual” and “Da Ya Renewal”
According to the title, the author imitated the theme and style of Zhang Hong, a painter of the Ming Dynasty, when he created this work. He is good at painting landscapes and attaches importance to sketching from life. His brushwork is steep, the ink color is moist, the mountains are piled up, the autumn valleys are deep, and there is the ancient meaning of the Yuan Dynasty; His freehand brushwork characters are both good in form and spirit, and are well scattered and gathered. They are important figures in the Wumen School of Painting at the end of the Ming Dynasty
