The ivory seal of “Xiao Hong sings low and I play the flute” is carved by Weng Danian in the Qing Dynasty, with a side length of 1.8 cm and a height of 2.4 cm
Impression teeth, square, button, button top chain, side style. The seal character is printed in vermilion script. From the top right, the seven words “Xiao Hong sings low and I play the flute” are read in sequence. The printed side has a side bar with a positive line. The side section is engraved with “Shujun” in official script
This print is from a poem by Jiang Kui of the Song Dynasty: “The most beautiful rhyme is to carve out new words. Xiao Hong sings the flute in a low voice. The song ends at Songling Road and looks back at the Yanbo Shili Bridge”. “Xiao Hong” is Jiang Kui’s geisha. The ivory material is solid and delicate, making it wear-resistant. Weng Danian is good at carving ivory seals, and his iron thread Zhu Wen seals are both strong and vivid. The upper end of the seal is in the shape of a bucket, with a thin ring chain in the top ring. The work is exquisite and worthy of appreciation
