Chengni Channel Inkstone, in the early Qing Dynasty, is 12.4 cm long, 12.4 cm wide and 6 cm high
The inkstone is fired from clear mud and has a square shape. The center of the inkstone is a square inkstone hall, surrounded by winding water, so it is also called Shiqu inkstone. The inkstone frame is carved with echo patterns, the sides are carved with Kui dragon patterns, and the four corners at the bottom are animal feet. On the back of the inkstone, there are four characters of “Zi Sun Yongchang” in the seal script inside the double border. The outer ring of the inkstone is engraved with the Emperor Qianlong’s inscription: “The name of the stone channel originated from the Han Dynasty, the inkstone of the stone channel was made from the Tang Dynasty… The Emperor Qianlong’s Xinchou Emperor made the inkstone”. The handwriting is denuded and illegible, and it is the inkstone of Emperor Qianlong’s collection
This inkstone is thick, clear and purple, with green rust on the surface. It is in the form of imitation ancient inkstone. According to the records of the archives, both the inkstone made by the Qing court and the Suzhou weaving are antique and old inkstone
