Rhinoceros horn carved water yulan lotus leaf cup, early Qing Dynasty, height 6.1 cm, caliber 10 × 9.6 cm
The cup is dark brown and made of Asian rhinoceros horn. With lotus and orchid decoration as the theme, a small rhinoceros horn is carved into a lotus leaf shape in the upper pocket. The inner bottom of the cup is round and wide, embossed with water ripples, and the spray splashes up along the bottom of the cup. The decoration on the outer wall of the cup is complex, the veins of the leaves are hidden, the carp swim freely, jump out of the water, the long clip prawns jump on the water, a broad-leaved grass and a clump of orchids seem to be swaying due to the fluctuation of the water, and a big crab scrambles to the mouth of the cup. This cup is ingenious in concept, unique in design, interesting in decoration and exquisite in carving. It is a small piece of rhinoceros horn carving in the Qing Dynasty.
