It is known that this scroll was written in the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. Deng Shiru did not take part in the imperial examination in his life, so his regular script was not affected by the style of the pavilion style, but was completely taken from the inscriptions of the Han and Wei Dynasties. The calligraphy was vigorous and dignified, and the knot was correct and steady, especially the big characters. This is Deng Shiru’s mature work in his later years.
