The author’s own title: “The painting is expensive and simple, but the woodcutter is bored alone, but the intention is still simple. And he can borrow the pen for ink, and borrow the ink for pen, so he can see the beauty of its change. This picture was made by Xin Si-year-old, and it was checked by official work, but it has not been completed for a long time. At the end of the time, it was stained until the ninth day of Yiyou, and it can’t be concentrated in one time. It can’t be repaired in many ways, but it is tired and stagnant. Fortunately, the genre is not lost. Lu Taiqi inscribed in the grain imperial edict hall of Jingdi.” Zhu Wenyin, “Ancient Qizhai”, Under the seal are the “Wang Yuanqi Seal” Zhu Wen Seal, the “alias Lutai” Zhu Bai Wen Seal, the “Xilu descendant” Zhu Wen Seal in the lower left corner, the “Sun Yufeng Treasure Seal”, the “Xu Zishan Secret Luggage Seal”, the “Xu Wentai Bamboo Hidden Collection Seal”, the “Congyu Zhang’s”, the “Yun Hui Zhai Seal”, and the “temporarily obtained from oneself quickly and self-sufficient” seals
The “Xinsi” and “Yiyou” in the collection are the 40th year of Kangxi (1701) and the 44th year of Kangxi (1705), respectively. This picture should be the work of Wang Yuanqi between the ages of 60 and 64
The whole painting is composed in a high way. The mountains and mountains have an ethereal appearance in the majesty, and the rocks and trees open and close with a degree, creating a rich and colorful atmosphere in the changeable echo of reality and emptiness. Wang Yuanqi said that the painting began in “Xinsi” and ended in “Yiyou”, which took four years to complete. Although this picture is not a one-shot painting, due to Wang’s profound traditional brush and ink skills and superb ability to create scenery, the whole picture of ink and ink is still very natural, and it is a representative work of Wang Yuanqi’s imitation of Wang Meng’s landscape painting in his later years
