The Map of Plum Exploration Fan Page, Qing Dynasty, Xie Bin’s painting, gold paper, ink pen, 18.5 cm in length and 55 cm in width
The fan page has its own title: “Kangxi Yimao was painted in Yushu Hall in Zhiyuan. Gu Xiang Xie Bin was seventy and four years old.” The seal was “Bin” and “Wen Hou”. “Yimao” is the 14th year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1675)
The picture depicts the scene where Gao Shi is looking for plum in the countryside and the mountains. The mountain stones in the close shot adopt powerful axe chopping and chapping, and wipe the stone surface with side strokes, which has the vigorous brushwork of Song painting.
