[Yun Shouping Fragrant Forest Purple Snow Picture Fan Page]

Fragrant Forest Purple Snow Picture Fan Page, Qing Dynasty, Yun Shouping, paper version, color setting, 17.7cm vertically and 53cm horizontally
The fan page has its own title: “Purple Snow in the Fragrant Forest, Longevity in the Yunxi River.”. Another title: “In the Donggao Garden at the end of spring, you can enjoy the vines in the middle of the sky, the purple clouds are waving, the good wind is blowing fragrance, and the fallen flowers are colorful. It’s really a wonder. The play is written for entertainment.” Seal “Shouping” white seal
This picture has the same name as the wisteria painting fan (model year “Renxu”, Yun Shouping was 50 years old) in the Nanjing Museum, and the painting style and calligraphy style are similar, so it is inferred that the painting without the creation model year should also be Yun’s work in his later years. This is a sketch of the scenery. By drawing the shape of wisteria, the author suggests the intangible wind and the poetic meaning of “good wind blowing fragrance”. The bright and clean colors and skillful brushwork of the whole picture show the author’s keen observation and painting skills of fine detail
