Yunshan Map Fan Page, Qing Dynasty, Hongyun Painting, paper, ink pen, 16.5cm vertical, 49cm horizontal
The fan page has its own title: “I am very proud to paint.” The seal is “I” and “I am very proud”
This picture is a landscape sketch drawn in imitation of the Song Dynasty’s Mi’s Yunshan method. The distant mountains, flowing clouds and trees are not described in detail, but are only painted in green ink. Mie’s style of painting, which is “mostly made by mists and clouds to cover trees and stones, seems to have been”, has been loved by painters of all levels since its formation, and Honghong, as a painter of the Qing royal family, is no exception. It can be inferred from the title of “minister” and “respect painting” that this picture should be dedicated to the Emperor Qianlong of the current dynasty. From this, the Emperor Qianlong also agreed with the painting method of Mi’s seemingly cursory painting, but full of natural interest
