Yixing kiln purple sand oval flowerpot, early Qing Dynasty, 13.5cm high, 51.5 caliber × 35.5cm, bottom diameter 45.5 × 27.5 cm
The flowerpot is oval in shape, with mouth, flat and round belly, a round hole in the middle of the bottom, and four half-moon-shaped feet under it. Purple red sand mud, pure mud color
Purple sand flowerpots began to appear in the late Ming Dynasty. In 2006, a batch of late Ming purple sand vessels were unearthed in the abandoned dry wells of the Ming Dynasty in Jintan, Zhejiang Province, including a late Ming purple sand flowerpot. Purple sand flowerpots entered the court in the early Qing Dynasty.
