This scroll records the seven-character poem “Watching Rope Skill” written by Liu Yanshi of the Tang Dynasty, which was written on the second day before the Mid-Autumn Festival in the third year of Yongzheng’s reign (1725). It reads from itself: “Wang Shishen, a close man, wrote in Yongwan Mountain Hall.” It is stamped with three seals: “gradually weng”, “near man” and “dream spring life”. Under the title, affix the seal “Shi Shen”. This picture has no hidden seal
This axis was written by Wang Shishen at the age of 40. The calligraphy is clear and vigorous, the strokes are beautiful and slim, the knots are square and neat, and the wave and pick are in the style of Han Li. However, in general, it is still influenced by the fashion of official script in the Ming Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty, and the tradition is more than the change.
