The box is made of bamboo root and carved into gourd shape. It is divided into two parts from the middle, and the cover fits with the body’s mother mouth. The table is decorated with high relief and carving techniques to depict vines, leaves, small gourds, etc
Since ancient times, gourd has the meaning of having many children and many blessings, which is very common in the theme of handicrafts in the Ming and Qing dynasties. The entanglement of vines on the box body, the curling of leaves, the traces of insect erosion and the location of gourds are carefully arranged, which are both lifelike and decorative.
