[Big red damask with sunflower pattern driving clothes]
Big red damask with sunflower pattern driving clothes, clear, 129 cm in length, 200 cm in full length of two sleeves, 21 cm in sleeve width, 80 cm in hem width, 58 cm in front and rear train length. The old collection of the Qing Palace
The driver’s dress has a round neck, a large lapel and a right lapel, horseshoe sleeves, and a train that opens back and forth. Bright red satin surface, lined with pink plain cloth, decorated with copper, gilded and carved with five buckles
This driving suit adopts the method of inter-colour decoration. First brush the paste on the plain cloth of the natural color, and then paint the sunflower pattern on it after the cloth is dry, then cut the painted pattern along with the shape, and nail it on the surface of the bright red plain satin robe by mistake. This robe was worn by the honor guard of the Qing Dynasty emperor. No matter the form, pattern or workmanship, it can’t be compared with the emperor’s clothing. It can be seen that the Qing Dynasty crown system is strict in “order of honor and inferiority”.
