Huiqing Glazed Jue Cup, Ming Jiajing, height 16.1cm, caliber 12.7cm × 6.6 cm, foot pitch 7 cm
The shape and decoration of the cup are modeled on ancient bronzes. Oval mouth, with a copper coral round button hollow cover. Deep abdomen, with three columnar feet underneath. The whole body is covered with blue glaze, and the glaze color is light purple blue. The abdomen is decorated with a circle of back lines, animal face lines and drum nail lines. The glaze is even and moist, and the thin part of the glaze reflects white fetal bone. There is no glaze at the bottom of the cup, and the regular script “made in Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty” is engraved in the official yin
Huiqing glaze is a special high-temperature blue glaze fired with imported “Huiqing” materials in Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty. It is a new variety derived from the high-temperature cobalt blue glaze fired in Jingdezhen kiln since the Yuan Dynasty. Its glaze color is similar to the sacrificial blue glaze, but slightly lighter.
