This dish is carved with a picture of a hibiscus kingfisher on the sky. There is a blooming hibiscus on the rocks. A kingfisher stops among the branches and leaves. Looking back at the flowers and leaves in front of him, he seems to have found food. The whole picture shows the scene of birds singing and flowers in midsummer. The wall of the plate is painted with yellow paint and carved with vermilion patterns, the inner wall is carved with a vermilion chrysanthemum on each side, and the outer wall is carved with variant vanilla patterns. The feet are painted black and have no money. There is a Qing Dynasty yellow paper on the foot, and the ink on it reads, “On the third day of November, the fifty-fourth year of Qianlong’s reign, the Ningshou Palace presented a red carved lacquer square plate, which was missing paint and wax.”
