[Imitation Ru glazed plate]
Imitation Ru glazed plate, Ming Xuande, height 4.2 cm, caliber 17.6 cm, foot diameter 11 cm. The old collection of the Qing Palace
Flap, belly, and circle. The whole body and the inside of the feet are painted with Ru-like glaze. The glaze color is gray, blue and shiny. It is covered with fine grains. When you squint at the light, you can see that the glaze has orange peel patterns. The outsole is printed with blue and white regular script “Da Ming Xuan De Nian System” in six characters and double lines, and the outer blue and white double lines
In Ming Dynasty, the imitation of Song official kiln ware generally only focused on the glaze color of the imitation of Song ware rather than its shape, so there are few works of authenticity. In addition to the glaze color of the imitation of Song and Ru kiln ware, its shape and appearance show the characteristics of Xuande official kiln porcelain. The imitation Ru glazed porcelain of the Ming Dynasty can only be seen in Xuande official kilns. The same specimen as this plate was unearthed at the Xuande official kiln site in Zhushan, Jingdezhen
