Red peony grain slag bucket

[Red peony grain residue bucket]

Red peony grain residue bucket, Ming Yongle, 11.5 cm high, 16.3 cm caliber, 11 cm foot diameter. The old collection of the Qing Palace
The slag bucket skims the mouth, has a short neck, a bulging belly, and a round foot. The whole body is painted with red paint, and flower patterns are carved on the diamond-shaped brocade floor. The abdomen, the inner and outer walls of the neck are carved with six peonies and budding buds. The soles of the feet are painted with ochre paint, and the left foot is stitched with the “Ming Yongle Year System” running script. Next to it is a poem inscribed by Qianlong Renyin Xinzheng Emperor, and stamped with two seals, “Bide” and “Langrun”
The practice of embossing flower patterns on brocade ground is different from the mainstream practice of embossing flowers on yellow lacquer ground at that time, which is a special case
