[Blue and white flower pattern plate]
Blue and white flower pattern plate, Ming Yongle, height 9.2 cm, caliber 63 cm, foot diameter 48.6 cm
Open plate, arc wall, circle foot. Full body blue and white decoration. The landscape map of the garden is painted on the inner bottom: sloping land, rocks, flowers and plants, with flowing water below and floating clouds above. The inner and outer walls are painted with 8 groups of flowers and plants
This kind of plate is large in shape, thick in wall and heavy in weight, which is different from the general porcelain of Yongle. It is rarely seen in China, but is collected in museums in Iran and Türkiye. Because some Islamic countries have the habit of holding large plates for food, people sit around the table and eat with their hands, so this kind of large porcelain plate should be specially made tableware for Islamic countries. The decoration style of this article is consistent with the overall decoration style of Yongle porcelain, with a clear and bright layout and fresh reflection.
